Rudi Vogel

For Rudi Bluegrass is love on first sight. Purely fascinated by the speed and power of Earl Scruggs´ banjo he realized that with a banjo one can only make happy music, which “opens up your heart”. Actually, he foremostly loves the harmony singing until today. With time he set off from traditional Bluegrass to go for Bluegrass covers of old Rock and Pop songs, or his own songs.

Here you can learn more about the musical background of Rudi and his relation to Bluegras music.

Anna Takayasu

On a question asked to a classically  educated violinist „can you read music?“ Anna would probably answer „not enough to hurt my playing“.  Bluegrass music offers another kind of freedom, which she beautifully exploits. Based on her international experience with various bands she adds more than a fiddle and a smile to the band by her emotional playing and lead and harmony singing. With her female voice she introduces a another colour with a touch of Country and Blue Bayou.

Silvia Tautermann

A new love is like a new life, Silvia thought when she fell in love with a “single” double bass and hugged him. Although her professional home is the organ and piano, she also plays jazz piano and occasionally picks up the “Styrian” for tavern music. Getting into Bluegrass Music is easy for her, because musically she is at home in many worlds. As a counterpart to her instrumental bass, her soprano voice is the icing on the cake for our quartet singing.

Martin Grabenstein

Which guitar could fit him better than a Martin? Formerly cruising electric in Blues, Rhythm & Blues and Soul, his street music time returned him to his musical roots. These roots are Blues, Folk, Gospel and Country Music. His passion of the floating sound of open guitar tunings, with and without slide he has cultivated in a former Americana band. In Bluegrass all these elements find their home. In different colours and shades of traditionals to adaptations of Southern- and Roots Rock he can let his temper run free.
